Latest News and Tips
* You should still be mowing. Mow until grass is completely dormant. This will greatly impact the health of your lawn through the winter, and give your lawn a better start next Spring.
* At this point, you should not be watering your lawn. Excess moisture mixed with cooler weather increases your potential for Large Patch. Below is an attachment that shows what this fungus looks like and ways to help prevent it.
* You should not allow leaves to completely cover your lawn for any length of time. A thick covering of wet leaves could smother the grass, particularly in shadier areas where the root system of the turfgrass may be shallower and weaker.
* To reduce insect and disease pressures next year, clean up leaves and other plant debris from the base of your plants. Some diease spores and insect larvae may harbor in old decaying plant material.
* As always, if you have any concerns about your lawn, please call or e-mail us. If we can't help you by phone or e-mail, we are happy to come to your home and identify the problem at no charge to you. Another great benefit to your Freedom Lawns services is you no longer have to try to "self-diagnose".
